ADVANCED WOODCUT BOOTCAMP REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY OCTOBER 17TH!!! 〰️
Option #1 “OG DÜRER”: Audit/Do over the original Woodcut Bootcamp, with the experience of a seasoned WCBC Alumni! You know the drill! You’ll make an 18”X24” (or around that size) basic black-line woodcut. You’ll enjoy all the original demos and perks that go along with regular bootcamp, as well as some extra perks that only apply to WCBC ALUMNI!
OPTION #2 “THE RHINO”: This is our traditional 2 color print workshop, the same we’ve offered to Alumni for years now! You will learn how to make tinted, traditional two-color woodcuts in the style of Durer, Cranach, and Burgkmair. This is an amazing opportunity to learn this kick ass, yet simple, way of bringing color to your woodcuts. LOTS OF DEMOS, HISTORY LESSONS, AND INTENSE DEADLINE DRIVEN PRINT FUN.
OPTION #3 “THE LONE PRINT WOLF”: This is an amazing option that gives you the most freedom to use the EP shop to make WHATEVER YOU WANT during your residency. You can bring blocks you’ve already carved, work large, see ALL the demos for all sections offered during the week, collaborate with other camp artists if schedules allow.
OPTION #4 “INTRO/ADVANCED ETCHING HYBRID” with Master Printer Steve Campbell. EP IS EXCITED TO OFFER THIS MINI ETCHING WORKSHOP AS PART OF ADVANCED WCBC, TAUGHT BY STEVE CAMPBELL OF LANDFALL PRESS. All facets of basic copperplate etching will be covered. You’ll learn hard and soft ground, aquatint, and more! The advanced portion of the course will focus on color approaches to intaglio and expanding upon printing, etching, and mixed media techniques. All demos and coursework is open to both levels and students will work using both levels if they choose to do so.
